Colorado Parks and Wildlife

In 2026, Colorado Parks and Wildlife hosted multiple astronomy programs at Ridgway State Park, including Celestial Secrets telescope nights with the Black Canyon Astronomical Society and a Starlit Trails guided hike and astronomy talk.[1]

The June star party used high-powered telescopes at the Visitor Center, while the July Starlit Trails program combined an accessible twilight walk with binocular observing and interpretation of stars, planets and deep-sky objects.[1]

What CPW says about staying overnight

CPW lists normal park hours as 5am to 10pm. The park has nearly 300 campsites across three campgrounds, with selected winter camping and year-round yurts. Reservations and a valid park pass are required, and campground quiet hours begin at 10pm.[2]
