Colorado Stargazing Trail
The Colorado Tourism Office identifies Breckenridge as Colorado's first International Dark Sky Certified ski-resort town. Its trail page points visitors toward Boreas Pass, Sawmill Reservoir and Gold Run Nordic Center for broader views and recommends the Breckenridge Welcome Center for seasonal local guidance.[2]
Breckenridge's official visitor site
GoBreck says Breckenridge is “the first mountain resort community in Colorado to achieve this designation.”[3]
The official visitor site says the town received Dark Sky Community certification in August 2025 after years of work to reduce light pollution. It also lists stargazing and astronomy programs, workshops, guided activities and other dark-sky experiences, including guided stargazing at Beaver Run Resort.[3]
