Colorado Parks and Wildlife

For the August 8, 2026 Star Party, CPW invited visitors to “see the beauty of the night sky through telescopes.” Volunteer astronomers from the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society brought telescopes for views of stars, planets, galaxies and other night-sky objects.[2]

CPW placed the event near the Visitor Center parking lot, asked visitors to bring red-light flashlights and advised drivers to minimize headlights when arriving or leaving.[2]

Program status

The August 8 program ran from 8:30–10:30 pm, required a park pass and did not require event registration. CPW has also used Mueller for other astronomy and night-sky programs, so future dates should be taken from the live park calendar rather than inferred from previous events.[3]
