Mueller now lives in Events
The former standalone Mueller State Park place listing has been folded into the event layer. Mueller's verified astronomy relevance comes from scheduled telescope nights and star parties at specific park locations, not from treating the entire forested state park as a permanent observing site.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife
CPW invited visitors to “See the beauty of the night sky through telescopes.”[2]
Volunteer astronomers from the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society brought multiple telescopes for views of stars, planets, galaxies and other night-sky objects. The event was held near the Visitor Center parking lot from 8:30–10:30pm.[2]
What visitors were asked to bring
CPW recommended layers for the cool evening, a red-light flashlight and low headlights when entering or leaving the parking area to protect night vision. No registration was required, but a park pass was required.[2]
Current status
The August 8 event has passed. Keep this as an archive of a confirmed CPW astronomy program and use the live park calendar for any future star party.[2]
