CSU says public observatory nights are “free and open to everyone!”[1]

The university's current 2026 astronomy page schedules public viewing on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from April through November, weather permitting. The observatory is at 1251 Libbie Coy Way in Fort Collins, and CSU says parking is free for the evening programs.[1]

As of August 17, the remaining published 2026 dates are August 28, September 11 and 25, October 9 and 23, and November 13 and 27. Start times move earlier as autumn progresses.[1]

Schedule freshness note

An older CSU observatory page describes a first-and-third-Friday cadence. The dated 2026 astronomy schedule is more specific and current, so this guide uses the second-and-fourth-Friday dates above.[1]
