Colorado Stargazing Trail
The Colorado Tourism Office identifies Jackson Lake as “Colorado’s first state park to earn International Dark Sky Park certification.”[2]
The trail describes the park as an eastern-plains lake destination with educational events, hikes and telescope use, with most listed programs occurring from May through August. Camping makes it possible to build the night around the park rather than drive out immediately after observing.[2]
Colorado Parks and Wildlife
Colorado Parks and Wildlife currently lists public star parties at Jackson Lake. Its September 12, 2026 event directs visitors toward North View Campground and emphasizes reducing campsite lighting so eyes can adapt to the dark. Event listings specify whether registration is required and confirm that a park pass is needed.[3]
