DEFUNCT / QUARANTINED

This listing is archived from the active stargazing guide.

The underlying park, business, project or property may still be open. The tag above records why this particular listing was removed: for example an ended astronomy program, unverified public access, an out-of-state project, or a place that did not justify a standalone stargazing stop.

Archived records are excluded from active maps, route planning and regional place recommendations. The source record below explains the decision and can be re-verified if the circumstances change.

ARCHIVE / SOURCE RECORD

Current status

The guided stargazing program associated with this guide entry has been verified as defunct.

Ouray KOA Holiday itself remains an operating campground. This quarantine applies to the guided astronomy destination/product listing, not to the campground as a business.

Previous Colorado Stargazing Trail listing

The Colorado Tourism Office described guided observing at Ouray KOA using a Unistellar telescope, including views of galaxies, nebulae and planets.

That former program should no longer be treated as a current reason to book the campground for astronomy.

If the program returns

If Ouray KOA launches a clearly current, visitor-facing astronomy program again, this listing can be restored after the program and participation details are verified.
