Colorado Parks and Wildlife

For its 2026 Star Party, Colorado Parks and Wildlife invited visitors to “an exploration of the night sky above.”[1]

The June 19 program began at the Reverend's Ridge Campground Amphitheater with a talk, then moved after dark to Panorama Point for telescope viewing with CU STARs astronomers. CPW told participants to bring warm clothing, a chair or blanket and a red flashlight; telescopes were provided and personal telescopes were welcome.[1]

What that tells us about the site

The event source gives a more useful visitor recommendation than generic park copy: Panorama Point is a location CPW itself has selected for public star viewing, while Reverend's Ridge provides the program and campground infrastructure. That does not mean every forested section of the park has an equally open horizon.[1]
