Rocky Mountain Star Stare

RMSS calls itself “The Premier Star Party of the Rocky Mountains.”[2]

The Colorado Springs Astronomical Society says the event returns June 30–July 4, 2027 to Starry Meadows, its 35-acre observing property outside Gardner at about 7,600 feet. RMSS says the event normally hosts more than 300 amateur and professional astronomers, family members and friends.[2]

What is included

The organizer lists dark-sky observing, scientific speakers, astronomy presentations, astrophotography, telescope-making activities, children's programming, vendors and on-site camping for tents, campers, trailers and RVs.[2]

The current site lists online registration at $80 for adults and $35 for children, with children 12 and younger free when accompanied by a parent. On-site registration is higher.[2]

Current status

The 2027 dates are already announced. Use RMSS directly for registration windows, arrival instructions, lighting rules and any later pricing changes.[2]
