National Park Service

NPS says, “Join Mesa Verde rangers every Wednesday for a Night Sky program.”[2]

Each program includes a 30-minute ranger talk followed by laser-guided night-sky interpretation and telescope viewing when weather permits. The location is Morefield Campground Amphitheater.[2]

Remaining 2026 schedule

Programs begin at 9pm through September 2, then move to 8:30pm from September 9 through October 14. NPS notes that times may change later in the season.[2]

Nighttime access distinction

NPS says ancestral sites, trails and backcountry are closed at night. Morefield Campground, Far View Lodge and multiple park-road overlooks remain the appropriate nighttime options.[2]

Current status

The Wednesday series remains active through October 14, 2026. Check the NPS page before travel for weather or schedule changes.[2]
