Lake Fork Valley Conservancy

LFVC describes Star Fest as a “free community celebration of our celestial heritage.”[2]

The 2026 festival ran June 12–13 in Lake City and at Slumgullion Pass. Friday's Arts & Atmosphere program included art, a gallery social, films and guided stargazing in Town Park. Saturday's Science & Stars program included astronomy speakers, planetarium sessions, telescope training, solar observing and an 8:30pm main stargazing event at Slumgullion Pass.[2]

LFVC required vehicle registration for the Saturday-night main event and emphasized red-light-only etiquette, cold-weather clothing, hydration and the lack of cell service at the 11,530-foot pass.[3]

Current status

The June 12–13, 2026 festival has passed. Keep it as an archive and wait for LFVC to publish the next Star Fest before presenting another annual date as confirmed.[3]
