Gunnison Valley Observatory

GVO says it is “Open Fridays and Saturdays June 12 - September 5, 2026.”[2]

Public astronomy talks begin around 9pm and last about 30 minutes. A lecture ticket also includes the astronomy museum and weather-permitting observing through smaller outdoor telescopes. Viewing through the observatory's 30-inch telescope requires a separate dome ticket.[2]

2026 ticket options

The observatory currently lists public lectures at $5, regular dome viewing at $15, mini dome viewing at $5, deluxe dome viewing at $25 and Premier Astronomy Nights at $40.[2]

For a typical regular night, GVO lists the lecture at 9pm, the first dome session from 9:35–10:05pm and the second from 10:10–10:40pm.[2]

Current status

The public season remains active through September 5, 2026. Use the live ticket page for the exact remaining night and inventory, especially for the small-capacity dome sessions.[2]
