Denver Astronomical Society

DAS says it hosts a “mini-star party at sundown” on the south lawn of Chamberlin Observatory every month.[2]

Members set up their own telescopes for public observing and questions. Weather permitting, visitors can also look through the observatory's 20-inch Alvan Clark-Saegmuller refractor. DAS encourages beginners to bring their own telescope if they want help learning how to use it.[2]

Admission and access

Individual 2026 Open House listings say no tickets or reservations are required for the lawn event. The lawn activity starts at dusk; DAS lists a $2 donation for views through the historic observatory refractor, with DAS members and University of Denver students free.[2]

Current status

Open Houses continue on monthly Saturday dates. Use the DAS calendar for the next confirmed date and weather-dependent details.[2]
