Dark Skies of the Wet Mountain Valley
The organizer says this daytime session uses special solar filters and solar telescopes for safe public views of the Sun.[2]
Depending on solar activity, visitors may see sunspots, prominences or flares. The September 12 event is held at Bluff and Summit Park in Westcliffe.[2]
Access
The event runs 11am to noon, is free and requires no reservation.[2]
Weather procedure
The organizer says public events may be canceled because of weather, with updates posted at least two hours before the start time through its phone greeting and social channels.[2]
