Dark Skies of the Wet Mountain Valley
The organizer says it will connect a camera to Smokey Jack Observatory's 14-inch telescope and project live accumulating images onto a 10-foot outdoor screen.[2]
The resulting color views can reveal galaxies, star clusters, planetary nebulae and globular clusters in more detail than a conventional eyepiece view.[2]
Important distinction
The organizer says no additional telescopes will be set up for visual observing at this event. This is specifically an electronic-assisted experience viewed on the outdoor screen.[2]
The event is free, open to the public and requires no reservation.[2]
Weather procedure
Public events can be canceled on the day because of weather. Dark Skies of the Wet Mountain Valley says cancellations will be announced at least two hours before the start time through its phone greeting and social updates.[2]
