National Park Service

NPS says 2026 Night Sky Programs are offered on “Select nights, times vary.”[2]

The meeting place is the closed loop at the south end of Split Mountain Campground. Programs last about 20–60 minutes and combine a ranger talk with sky viewing; telescopes are used when weather and staffing allow. Extra parking for non-campers is available.[2]

Most recent published telescope night

NPS published telescope programs on August 8 and August 15, 2026 at 9:30pm. Those specific dates have passed. The broader summer schedule still describes Night Sky Programs as a select-night offering, but I did not find a future post-August 15 date currently published.[3]

Current status

Keep this as a seasonal program page rather than inventing a next date. Check the NPS calendar or campground bulletin board for the next confirmed Night Sky Program.[3]
