NPS says “Astronomy and telescope viewing programs are offered in the summer.”[2][3]
Rangers present astronomy programs at the Elk Creek Campground amphitheater, and the park's ranger-program page describes an astronomy program, laser tour of the night sky and telescope viewing when weather permits.[2][3]
The park remains usable between programs
NPS says Curecanti does not close and allows night-sky viewing at all hours. That means a ranger program is an interpreted option rather than the only way to use the park after dark.[2][3]
Current status
The astronomy program remains a summer seasonal offering, but NPS does not publish one fixed repeating date on the stargazing page. Use the live park calendar for the exact night and check weather and program changes before attending.[2][3]
