National Park Service

The National Park Service says summer programs generally run from mid-May through September and lists Astronomy Programs with “Days and time vary.” Visitors are directed to the South Rim Visitor Center for the current schedule.[2]

NPS says astronomy sessions run about 30–45 minutes and may cover dark-sky preservation, constellation stories and telescope viewing deeper into the universe.[2]

A specific 2026 distinction

NPS explicitly says Twilight Talks and general Evening Programs are not offered in 2026. Astronomy programs are the exception and remain available on varying days and times.[2]

The park recommends red light only during astronomy programs and warns that programs can change or be canceled because of weather, emergencies or staffing.[2]

Current status

This remains a current seasonal listing through September, but there is no safe static date to publish for a visitor's exact night. Check with NPS or the South Rim Visitor Center immediately before attending.[2]
